You've seen the offers i.e.three matching bags for $40 - not a great deal if you want to use them more than once. Serious traveling needs serious luggage.

Those cheap cases you bought? You use them twice and a wheel comes off the big case, the medium case zip breaks and the small one was never much good anyway. If you travel overseas you know that other people are going to be handling your bags and you want something sturdy and reliable. I found it. The Skyway Ultra No-Weight Vertical Case is perfect.

Light and Spacious Suitcase

The case is 27 inches long, 18 inches wide and 11 inches deep. Most of the product details I have read say this case weighs 9 pounds. I think it should be .9. It really is a no-weight bag, which is very important for me because I try so hard to conform to the weight restrictions. My bags are usually right on the limit, so I don't know why the airlines insist on putting ‘Heavy’ tags on them.

The interior of this case is very roomy and I generally put a good layer of clothing in before I start adding all the lovely things I have bought to take home. Maybe this is why I get the ‘Heavy’ tags. Chocolate is not the lightest substance after all.

The Skyway Ultra Case Suitcase is Strong

Really sturdy construction means that baggage handlers can heave the case around and you wouldn’t even know it, unlike that cheap case where I saw the coach driver throw it on the ground and the wheel fly off. The rolling handle fits into a recess when not in use and slides out at the press of a button. The extending poles fit into tubes that run the length of the case providing rigid support and strength. The sides are reinforced and I have carried china and antiques in this case. They were well wrapped and surrounded with clothing. They arrived in good condition, not bad for a journey that involved two flights and a train.

I also load my in-flight bag on top to roll them both through the airport. The handle and wheels have coped with an extra 30 pound load. Okay, so there was a laptop and heavy camera, thick book and a few bottles from the duty free store. I can travel light, I just choose not to.

Useful Features of the Skyway Ultra Case Suitcase

There are several neat little features on the case. The zippers are shaped and coated to make them easy to grip and the zips are made of very good quality nylon. The zippers on the main compartment interlock with a place to put a tie or small padlock. The interior straps are very useful when you pack a little less on the outbound journey, knowing there will be more to bring back.

There is a handle at the top, which is very strong, and a corresponding grip at the bottom to make it easy to load in the trunk of your car. There is also a handle on one side and two bars that act as feet on the other side. Inside the case there is a zipped lining and a soft felt bag attached to the side, which I find useful to keep all the chargers and cables in. There are two large flat zipped compartments, one inside and one out. These are great for papers and magazines.

The Skyway Ultra Case Suitcase is Good Value

Even if you bought this case at full price it would be excellent value, but look for the deals on Amazon or Nextag. You can often find the No-Weight at half price, which can be a quarter of the price of a comparable case from another maker. You might find this under the Union Bay label, but it’s essentially the same case.

The Skyway Ultra Case Suitcase Looks Smart

The case is available in a few color combinations and is a good looking case, distinctive enough to make it easy to spot on a carousel. Mine is always easy to see. It’s one of the few with a heavy tag on it, but that has nothing to do with the case!
